Our commitment
SafeSpace Disability Provider is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across all key user journeys and continually improve.
What we’ve built in
- Accessibility toolbar — adjust text size, switch to high-contrast or dim modes, enable a dyslexia-friendly font, turn on a reading guide, listen to pages read aloud, and switch on plain-English mode. Settings persist across visits.
- Reduced-motion support — animations honour the operating-system prefers-reduced-motion setting and the manual toggle in our toolbar.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is focusable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
- Screen-reader friendly — semantic HTML, landmark roles, live regions for form status, and descriptive alternatives for non-text content.
- Plain-English mode — toggle simpler language on key pages.
Known limitations
No site is ever finished. Some legacy images may still need improved alt text, and we’re working to caption all video content. We welcome your feedback so we can fix issues quickly.
Tell us about an accessibility issue
If you encounter a barrier on our site, please get in touch. We aim to acknowledge feedback within one business day and resolve issues within five.
